365.52: Feeling Like A Student

I am officially feeling like a student, as I’ve started the required reading! Actually, in the name of honesty, I listened to the audiobook of The Master Plan of Evengelism in the car on the drive to Texas! But I have started reading The Church Can Change the World, which was written by Antioch’s pastor, Jimmy Seibert. It is a really great collection of “God stories,” amazing ways that Jimmy has seen God work.

365.51: Move In!

We moved into our home today!
John and Cristie made some calls, Elevate people emailed other Elevate people, and suddenly there was a crew at our new front door to do some heavy lifting in the crazy heat and humidity. I felt so humbled that these complete strangers were breaking their backs for people they’ve never met!
Here is just a glimpse of all the junk hauled in!

365.50: Fun With New Friends

Today “Miss Cristie” helped the kids make tasty necklace treats! What fun!

Turner was so sleepy, he fell asleep on the floor. This never happens!

365.49: Moving in with the Montgomerys!

After taking my mom to the airport yesterday, the two boys and I came back to Waco and settled in with the Montgomerys.
If you haven’t heard the story, the Montgomerys are a sweet family from Fellowship in Atlanta. Once Ryan and I were sure God was calling us to Portugal, by way of Antioch in Waco, my mom suggested I get together with Cristie Montgomery. I asked why. She said, “Well, since they’re going to train at Antioch, too.”
I was confused.
Mom was confused because se thought I already knew. Haha.
So it turns out that they have been called to go to Spain, “happen” to be attending Elevate at the same time as us, have three kids near Turner’s and Holden’s ages, and will ultimately be only a few hours away! Isn’t God so good to is children?!
It is so much fun staying with them! We will be her probably three days before our new house is ready.
Here’s Cristie reading to the kiddos.

And here’s a fun picnic we had on their front porch

365.48: Bye Bye Mimi and Daddy!

Ryan and I were up bright and early this morning—actually 5am is more like the middle of the night for me—anyways, we were up and off to the Waco airport! Ryan headed to Seattle on a business trip with Tmobile. I have to say I’m a little jealous that he’s in such a cool city—one I’ve always wanted to visit! But on the upside, when I got back to the hotel my mom kept the boys, took them to breakfast, and let me go back to sleep for a couple more hours!
But then, back to the downside, I had to take my mom to the airport in Dallas this afternoon. It was so good to have her here. She really worked so hard to help me in any way I needed, and I just feel so blessed to call her my Mom!
On our way out of town, we stopped by the Children’s Museum (which we now have an annual pass to, thanks to Mom!) for a quick picture.

365.47: Art Ideas

OK, so let me start by saying that these are not my photos. I was browsing online today during naps, and got inspired to get crafty. Well, I haven't actually gotten crafty yet, but I really want to! A few of my friends create adorable things similar to these, and I really wanna try my hand at it!

Check out Erica's creations here and Becca and Gini's stuff here.

365.46: Zoo

So I can't remember if I've posted on here that my mom got us annual passes to the zoo and the Children's Museum!
Today we took the boys to the zoo, which was so fun, but crazy hot! It is such a wonderful place we'll be able to escape to, full of playgrounds, nature, and even a little splash park! (You know, the little fountains that shoot water up for kids to play in?)

Waiting while the tickets are being bought.

Checking out turtles and catfish.

Turner had fallen and Mimi was consoling him, when Turner found a "silly swommy!" (My dad made up silly swommies--they are creatures that you can find in couch cushions.) Turner says "way minnu! idea!" [translation: "Wait a minute! I have an idea!"], and pulls out a silly swommy. He'll tell you the color of it and have you look at it, and then throws it at you and screams "boo!"

Tough guy showing off his muscles.

When we walked by the birds, Turner really wanted to hold hands with one of them. He just stood there asking them to hold his hand and wouldn't move on!

The shade was so nice!
