365.80: Lemonade Stand

This morning we contributed a couple boxes of junk--ahem, priceless treasure--to a garage sale at the Montgomerys'. I was so excited to go hang with them all day (as I love a good garage sale), but I still have this flu. Bramp.

Ryan was a trooper, though. He and Holden took all our stuff, priced it, and hung out for a couple hours. And the kids made a lemonade stand! This was Holden's very first lemonade stand. They made a little over $3, so about a buck apiece. Holden used his money to buy a bag of toys Zach was selling.

[disclaimer: Cristie insisted on giving us the toys for free, but Holden really wanted to pay for them and I wanted him to have his first experience with earning/spending. So we bought the toys against Cristie's will.]

Since I was in the bed, instead of there with my camera, here is a shot I swiped from Cristie's blog.

365.79: Sick

I have been sick all day today and cannot even move off the couch. I'm sure it's just a little flu bug, and will pass quickly. But, alas, I have nothing to write and no picture to post.

Unless you want the picture of the toilet I'm staring at.

My mom sent some videos that she took on her phone while she was hotel-living with us in Waco a few weeks ago. The boys LOVE to watch themselves on video (is this normal, or are they narcissists?) so she thought this would keep them entertained for a bit while I'm sick.

Fortunately, Ryan had the day off today to help with the boys and he has the next two days off, too! He has worked the last eight days consecutively, five of which he closed. So the time together is so great, but this stupid virus is ruining it! Blast.

365.78: A Psalm

Life is boring right now...
...but God is never boring!

" One thing God has spoken, two things have I heard: that you, O God, are strong,
and you, O Lord, are loving."
~Psalm 62:11-12

This isn't a picture, but isn't it so so good for your heart?

365.77: 2010 Playlist

I made a killa playlist today. It's all my favorites from 2010 so far. And, yes, I am aware that most of these songs were not released in 2010, they are just what I've loved listening to so far. Let me just say that listening to this playlist on shuffle will greatly improve upon the fun factor of chores such as folding laundry, washing dishes, and mopping floors. I know. From experience.

I'm happy to send a copy of 18ish songs of your choice to the first couple people who comment with a request!

365.76: New Bathroom

This is a two bathroom house, but since we moved in a few weeks ago, we've all been sharing one! The 2nd bathroom is in the back of the house, off the laundry room, and is tiny. It was old and not really in functioning order, so our awesome landlords are re-doing the whole thing! The new shower (which is apparently weird dimensions) took awhile to come in so the project is taking longer than expected.
But here it is, in all its quaint little glory!

*So above is what I wrote during the day, and at the end of the day, I came out to see this:

I had to laugh at myself for thinking the shower, toilet, sink, new wall, and new floor would all get installed in just a day!
...to be continued...

365.75: McCormick Family Tree

I drew our family tree today. Currently looking for a frame and wall on which it can live.

365.74: Wall Ideas

So our office/playroom is a really dark navy blue. Really dark. I don't wanna repaint over it, so I've been trying to think of what I could put on the huge wall behind this here computer.

Cristie gave me the bright idea of maybe instead of trying to cover it with something really big, painting a bunch of smaller canvases to hang in a collage. I love it! My parents are coming to Waco August 6-10, so I thought it would be really fun to have a painting day where we each painted one or two canvases (including the kids).

Here's an idea of what I'd like the finished product to look like. These are actually fabric hangings, which I think I may incorporate with our paintings!

And here are some ideas to get us thinking creatively:
