365.17: Carmen's Wedding!

After spending the night in Newnan, Ryan and I headed to East Point this morning for my cousin Carmen's wedding. I was so happy to get to do her makeup and also her mom and sister (my aunt and cousin). It was really such a beautiful (and fun!) day.

I love this shot of Carmen cracking up as one of the bridesmaids helps with the dress.

365.16: Best Day Ever

Today was one of those days that just seemed perfect, from start to finish.
This morning, the boys and I met "Aunt Cam" at the Center for Puppetry Arts in Atlanta to see a production of Stella Luna! After the show (which the boys were totally in to and shockingly still for the first 40 minutes) they offered a puppet-making workshop. Here are the boys working on their own Stella Luna bats to take home.

Then this afternoon we dropped the boys off with Nonna and Papa (Ryan's parents) and headed up to Newnan for a surprise 30th birthday party for Ryan's cousin Alex. Ryan surprised me with reservations at a BEAUTIFUL bed and breakfast in downtown Newnan. We sat on the front porch with a glass of wine and were served fancy cheese and crackers. Then we made our way over to the party, which was in Alex and Jana's beautiful big backyard, for grilling out and watching the film Heima by Sigur Ros. It was just such a perfect summer night.
Here's a shot of Ryan and his cousin Alex, who is one of his dearest friends.

365.15: Summer Nights and Water Gun Fights

Just enjoying a summer night on the back porch.
Water guns.
Sprinklers.
That counts as a bath, right?

365.14: See Rock City

Ever seen the huge signs painted on the sides of barns that say "See Rock City?" I thought so. We decided to heed this advice and head to "Stone City" as Holden kept calling it, since I know the one thing you can always count on is barn wisdom, right?

I love the way Turner is shooting a look up to his big brother here.

Holden was for real making this face of concentration while trying to read the trail map.

And we brought Phoebe!

365.13: The Photographer

So, I'm sure if you read this blog, then you most definitely read my friend Becca's blog. Because she is totally like the most popular girl in the blogisphere. Totally. And if you read her blog, then you are aware that she is an amazingly talented photographer. God has truly gifted her with just the right combination of an artistic eye and technical savvy. But since she's always behind the camera, she is rarely the subject. So here's a shot of one of my besties, doin her thang.
(Yes, the kids are also mildy adorable, especially Jay's bare bum!)

365.12: Aunt Cam

Aunt Cam dropped in to Mimi and PopPop's house for a surprise visit tonight. The boys were so excited! They were thrilled to have her read them a book before bed. She is such a wonderful, loving aunt to these lucky boys.
Also, please note Turner's shiner and stitches. I mean, he looks like the toughest two-year-old I know!

365.11: "Actual" Birthday

As Holden made perfectly, and repeatedly, clear all day, today was his "actual 4th birthday." We started the day with singing "Happy Birthday" over candle-laden waffles and presents from the family (included in which were Legos we got when we visited downtown Disney). Then Holden's Aunt Cameron took him to the pool to play, we went to One Church, and finished the night at Uncle Clark and Aunt Esther's house. So fun!
