365.59: Farmers Market

There is an amazing Farmers Market just down the road from our house that I visited this morning! It's not huge, but so charming and speaking to the vendors is always fun and entertaining. One of the women this morning said she wakes up at 4am and drives an hour to Waco with three kids to sell her produce and jam! I found out that it is open Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays, so hopefully I'll be able to get most of our produce there. I love locally-grown goods!
This morning I bought new potatoes, cherry tomatoes, and green tomatoes for frying. (I may or may not have gotten the fried green tomatoes idea from watching that movie last night.)

365.58: Music

On our first Sunday at Antioch Ryan got us the worship album from World Mandate (Antioch's missions conference we attended this past January). And I love it. Which is probably a shock to some of you who know me well and know that I am not a huge fan of a lot of mainstream worship music. But this is really touching my heart and I actually enjoy listening to it and the boys love it too!

Here is "Above Every Other Name." This footage was actually from World Mandate 2010.

This is my favorite song on the album, "Break Every Chain," but this isn't Antioch people singing. It was just the only one I could find on YouTube. Haha :)

And this song is not on the World Mandate Album, but it's an old favorite that really hits the mark right now. "If You Want Me To" by Ginny Owens.

365.57: Freedom

For you have been called to live in freedom, my brothers and sisters. But don't use your freedom to satisfy your sinful nature. Instead, use your freedom to serve one another in love. For the whole law can be summed up in this one command: 'Love your neighbor as yourself.'"

I'm looking out my window and thinking that if I'm not free for the sake of running a muck with self-indulgence, what exactly am I free from? Here's some thoughts:

I am free from...
  • the power of sin in my life
  • the need to prove my worth to others
  • man-made expectations (beauty, weight, success, wealth, "good" parenting)
  • caring what other people think about me
  • serving myself over God and others

What is it that Jesus has set you set free from?

365.56: Phoebe Under Foot

For some reason, since we've been in the new house, Phoebe has been constantly and literally under my feet. I mean like, I step on her a million times a day. If I take two steps to the right, she takes two to the right. If I sit down, she lays at my feet. I guess with all the moves and "homes" in the last two months, she's not quite convinced that we won't just leave her here.

365.55: A Little Tour of Our Home

I am so loving this house! Two weeks ago I had an attitude of hesitation, not fully trusting God’s kindness and goodness and provision. I *hoped* we would find somewhere that was not too small, not too run down, not too far away from church. But I was forgetting that God is kinder than we could ever hope to be, and He loves us, and He wants the very best for us. So instead of giving us something that was barely good enough, God gave us a place that is just perfect! I am so grateful.
A couple days ago I mentioned how much I’m loving the ceiling fans in almost every single room!
Here are a few more things I’m loving:

Side-by-side ovens, one of which is this cute, smaller oven, perfect for dinner for our little family!

A really super-quiet dishwasher.

Charming glass doorknobs everywhere.

A swinging door to the kitchen.

Built-in bookcases in the living room.

Please come visit us and see everything first-hand!

365.54: Missing Georgia

We are so missing our friends in Atlanta! Before we left for Texas, our dear friend Erica and her boys made the sweetest photo albums for Turner and Holden full of pictures of them with their sweet little friends. Turner spent quite some time in his room today flipping through the pages of his dear friends.

In totally unrelated news, some of you might be aware of my (slightly embarrassing) love for the Twilight saga! Eclipse came out June 30, but I just got a chance to go see it tonight. Cristie was such a trooper and came with me—she hadn’t even seen or read the first two. She’s a good friend.
Here’s a little gem for your viewing pleasure from Eclipse. *insert teen girl giggle*

365.53: Ceiling Fans

Happy Fourth of July! We had a fun-filled, jam-packed day of…unpacking boxes! Woohoo!
I’m planning a post about my favorite features in our house, but let me go ahead and show you the best thing for a July move-in: ceiling fans! And LOTS of them! Seven to be exact:
